Kings Park and General Storage Information
Kings Park is a suburb in Melbourne, located 19 km northwest of the city’s Central Business District. At the 2021 census, it recorded a population of 8,203. Its local government area is the City of Brimbank.
This multicultural suburb was named after the King family, whose farm formed part of the area the estate was developed on. Kings Road was also named after the King family and their farm was situated on the same road, close to the current intersection with Grevillea Road.
Kings Park began as a housing estate located within the St Albans 3021 postcode area and it eventually became an official suburb with the same postcode. The estate started construction in 1971 with the initial phase consisting of Magnolia Avenue (north), Gillespie Road (south), the existing Kings Road (east), and Kings Park Reserve (west). Phase 2 consisted of the area bounded by Taylors Road (north), Gillespie Road (south), Maplewood Road/Fairmont Street (east), and Braeswood Road (west) and was completed in 1972.
With the continuing expansion in different stages, the current boundaries for Kings Park are Taylors Road (north), Main Road West (south), Kings Road (east), and Kororoit Creek and the City of Brimbank/City of Melton local government area boundary (west).
